Network Engineer
The Apex team is seeking an Network Engineer. This role will require the right colleague to serve as a tactical and operational technical resource and to implement and oversee the computer networks that support in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. The Network Engineer manages, maintains, plans, schedules, integrates, and troubleshoots the overall network and its devices—WANs, LANs, WLANs, VPNs, VoIP, etc.—and monitors network health. The Network Engineer will handle network installation planning, upgrades, cutovers, and testing. The Network Engineer will implement network security best practices and support Cisco Nexus, IOS and IOS-XE routers and switches.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve or escalate Incidents and Problems with internal and external groups (Data Center team, application support teams, Monitoring NOC, Vendors, ISPs, etc.)
Configure and install network routers, switches, and wireless controllers, including IMAC requests
Perform day-to-day operational tasks to maintain network stability
Work with stakeholders and application owners to maintain operational redundancy, of client services
Optimize bandwidth utilization and plan network capacity based on the customer’s evolving needs (e.g., new applications)
Collaborate with the Senior Network Architect on design improvements, capacity planning and changes in business requirements
Perform vulnerability investigations, and mitigations, on network infrastructure for PCI, HIPPA and other network compliance.
Requirements
Current CCNA required CCNP nice to have
3 years of experience in multi-site networks supporting 5000+ users nice to have
Familiarity with common network tools e.g, bits set, loopback plugs, laser lights for fiber identification, etc
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing: Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds, Infoblox, Palo Alto, and F5 is a plus.
Self-starting attitude looking to take ownership of managing the environment.
Keeping skills sharp with GNS3 or EVE-NG.
